Business Description

DIAMONEX is engaged in the manufacture and sale of high-performance products whose functionality is enabled or substantially enhanced by the use of CVD diamond or Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) materials. We develop our products and designs and construct our R&D and manufacturing equipment based on proprietary technology developed internally and licensed from third parties. Representative products by market segment are presented below.

DIAMONEX^® CVD Diamond Heatspreader Components and Products for Electronics

DIAMONEX manufactures and sells chemical vapor deposited polycrystalline diamond (CVD Diamond) substrates (i.e. coated wafers and free-standing materials) and thermal management components, including laser diode and LED submounts, heat spreaders, advanced packaging substrates and components for multi-chip modules, high-power FETs and microwave devices.

DIAMONEX CMP Pad Conditioners

DIAMONEX manufactures and sells CMP pad conditioners used in semiconductor wafer processing.

DIAMONEX Diamond Like Carbon

DIAMONEX provides DLC and DIAMONDSHIELD^® coating services for a variety of industrial and consumer products, spanning applications such as photomasks, microphone diaphragms, thermal print heads, automotive and aerospace components, optical windows, and medical devices.

DIAMONEX Wear Resistant Windows

DIAMONEX manufactures and sells wear resistant-glass and plastic windows for premium industrial markets. We developed and have supplied AEGISGLASS PLUS^® and EVERSCAN^® wear-resistant windows used by OEMs supplying all major supermarket bar code scanners for over seven years. DIAMONEX also supplies plastic windows with the advanced DIAMONDSHIELD^® coating for hand-held scanners and a variety of other applications.

DIAMONEX Ion Beam Systems
DIAMONEX has developed and supplies ion beam equipment and processes for deposition of ultra-thin DLC protective overcoats for magnetic discs, magnetic heads, and other applications. The DIAMONEX CD SOURCE™ ion beam source is unique in its simplicity of design, and flexibility and robustness of operation in demanding manufacturing environments.

Customers

Our customers are typically Fortune 500 manufacturing corporations and their Asian and European analogs. Limited quantities of strategic products are also supplied to military and government organizations, generally through prime contractors.

Partnerships and Alliances. DIAMONEX actively seeks to form strategic alliances with key customers for its products, particularly where market access is difficult.

These alliances may include one or more of the following arrangements: joint market analysis, sponsored or cooperative R&D, prototype product development, preferred product supply, joint or exclusive marketing arrangements and joint manufacturing. We currently have contracts with a number of organizations that encompass one or more of these arrangements.
